“August 2022.” Steam Hardware & Software Survey, Steam, 2022. For any other PC gamers, where does your PC rank on this list? Do you submit your PC specs to Steam for this survey and do you think the data from this survey is useful? Valve this week updated its monthly Steam Hardware & Software Survey to fix issues resulting in anomalous VR population data. While I am not looking to upgrade in the near future, I am still interested to see the advancements made on low/mid-range graphics cards for when I do decide to upgrade. Die Teilnahme an der Umfrage ist freiwillig und anonym. Steam führt monatlich eine Umfrage durch, um Daten über die verschiedenen Hard- und Softwarekonfigurationen, die von unseren Kunden genutzt werden, zu sammeln. Personally, I have a GTX 1660 Ti in my computer, which has similar capabilities to the GTX 1060 and was the 8th most popular graphics card on the latest Steam hardware and software survey (Steam 2022). Steam-Hard- & Softwareumfrage: July 2023. I went to Help > System Information but itr doesnt seem to send the info. I game at 1440p with 2 monitors and want my hardware survey to reflect that Can you force the survey. Based on this data, I wonder if GPU manufacturers would start to focus more on producing and promoting new low/mid range cards in an attempt to convince PC owners to upgrade their computer without spending a ton of money. So Steam will give it the whole 'you PC gamers dont even play 1080p' and this is why. Furthermore, the 1060 was a low to mid range card when it released. This is surprising because there is a lot of hype in the tech community surrounding the recent 3000 series GPUs from Nvidia even though the most common card is 2 generation and several years older. For example, I was surprised to see that the most popular graphics card currently is the GTX 1060 from Nvidia (Steam 2022). Since a lot of the data is publicly available, I am interested to see how much PC part makers would use the data for both advertising and production decisions. Valves latest software and hardware survey is out with new details about operating systems and hardware Steam customers use to play games. They also post a lot of the overall results which lets PC gamers compare their computer’s capabilities to those of the average Steam user. The most popular and common graphic card in an average Steam gaming rig is still the GTX 1060, as 16.78 of Windows PCs have them inside. Steam mainly uses this data to determine what technology they want to invest in as well as to determine what products and games they want to offer (Steam 2022). AMD’s RX 6700 XT is the first of AMD’s latest GPUs showing up in the hardware survey in just 0.16 of gaming PCs - the same share as the RTX 3050 Ti. One of the things that I like about it is that it is voluntary and anonymous. One of the few data collection systems that I like is the Hardware and Software Survey that Steam conducts every month.
